Conservative and Restorative Dentistry. Dental Clinic Guadix
It is part of dentistry that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental caries.

When there was a cavity, the conservative and restorative dentistry is responsible for removing the portion of diseased tissue and rebuild the tooth.
The removal of affected tissue was performed prior to anesthesia and instrumental rotation (and micro turbines). Once the cavities are shaped receiving cavity and the seal is placed.

The fillings can be made directly (at the clinic, and at the same time of the removal of the seal cavity is placed) or indirectly (in the laboratory, and placed the seal in the consultation on a subsequent visit ).

Materials used for direct fillings can be:

Silver amalgam

It was the most common material used until a few years ago. Its composition is a mixture of fine materials as scrap silver, tin, copper and zinc mixed with mercury. Today, amalgam is being replaced for aesthetic reasons and mainly because of possible contamination that could result due to one of its components, mercury.

Resin composite (composite)
It is the most widely used material for restoration today. It has good abrasion resistance, high hardness and excellent aesthetics. He has not been proven toxicity to date.

Ormocers
They are very new materials based on organically modified ceramics, high strength and biocompatible. Addition of fluoride ion release, which acts as a caries preventive waste.

Materials used for fillings may be indirect:

Gold inlays
Have been widely used but they are virtually obsolete by the aesthetic effect, the economic cost and there are currently other substitutes.

Ceramic Inlays
Have replaced much of the gold inlays.
